AxFlow gives service and maintenance top
billing

The issue of equipment lifetime operating and downtime costs has never been higher within the processing industries, so AxFlow has created some maintenance and technical training courses

The issue of equipment lifetime operating and downtime costs has never been higher within the processing industries Whereas at one time, only the initial investment cost was the main factor to be considered in selecting equipment such as pumps, lifetime costs are now very much a part of the specification process

Most companies agree that product and maintenance training can bring many benefits, including improved production.

Recognising the growing requirement for 24/7 servicing and maintenance, AxFlow has created a comprehensive programme of in-house and on-site engineering support resources and technical training courses to enable users to carry out their own maintenance.

Preventative maintenance starts during the design and installation stages, which is why AxFlow engineers are always on hand to provide full technical support including training where required.

"We offer our customers service support, stock holding, product training and maintenance facilities to ensure that the equipment which we supply gives full service life", says managing director Tony Peters: "AxFlow customers have access to both off and on-site maintenance facilities using our own personnel in London and Aberdeen.

In addition, we have an established working partnership with specialist service provider providing nationwide support from engineers trained and qualified on all the pump makes that we distribute".

Most companies would agree that product training can bring many benefits, including improving production.

Recognising this AxFlow offers its customers standard pump training courses on specific pump ranges, all with the flexibility to suit individual companies' requirements.

"Our Waukesha positive displacement pump course, for instance, consists of 8 modules, from the importance of initial installation through to full strip down and rebuild," continues Tony Peters: "Each module covers a particular element, explaining why and how it works together with information on how to resolve a fault if it occurs.

Damaged and worn parts are examined, as early recognition of these often saves downtime and unnecessary expenditure on spares and pumps with built in faults, are used for practical exercises".

AxFlow training courses cover all safety aspects, along with day to day maintenance.

Formal recognition using an examination paper and the giving of a certificate is part of the course and each person is given a presentation binder containing manuals and detailed servicing advice.

"AxFlow engineers are equipped to implement full site surveys that take into account the role and impact of equipment within the overall processing/production scenario," says Tony Peters "This means that we can design a schedule of maintenance and servicing that fits in with the customer's overall programme of plant maintenance and ensures optimum product or system performance.

The strategy benefits both parties, for it ensures that we have a full picture of what is required from the equipment when our engineers go on site and enables work to be completed in the minimum amount of time thereby optimising plant availability". Request a free brochure from AxFlow ...
