Braby, the leading UK manufacturer of silos and storage tanks, have completed a new state of the art breadcrumb facility for the international market leader of food coatings, Witwood Foods
At 4.2m diameter and 19m tall, the shipment of the silos to site in Saudi Arabia was a key part of the contract in terms of both logistics and cost.
In order to keep transport costs to a minimum, Braby manufactured the silos with a difference in diameter of 75mm.
This enabled the silos to be 'racked' one inside the other for transport which significantly reduced the cost to Advanced Fabrics.
The silos were transported in two sections: one consisting of the four shell and roof sections and one of the four cone and lower supporting sections.
Braby were contracted to supervise the installation of the silos on site to ensure that the complex operation of bolting and welding the two sections of each silo together went smoothly.
Braby were especially pleased to work with Advanced Fabrics as they have recently been awarded the prestigious "Entrepreneur Achievement Award" by INDA (Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry).
This award is only presented once every 3 years for a newly founded and innovative company who makes a significant impact on the Engineered Fabrics industry.
