Motors, drives, generators and motion
control

Baldor has unveiled ProSpec, a web-based service designed for engineers who specify electric motors, drives, generators, motion control and gear products

ProSpec is a high-end web portal designed for engineers, buyers and other individuals who need up-to-date specifications and technical information about motors, drives, generators, motion control products and gear products The site can be accessed at www.baldorprospec.com

"The idea with ProSpec is to provide engineers who are buying or specifying a product with a place to go and someone to talk to when they need fast and accurate technical product information", says Kevin Dunn, ProSpec Team Leader and the Baldor Director of Engineered Sales.

"Engineers need someone who speaks their language and understands their specific application challenges".

Dunn explains that an engineer or buyer can go to the website, and log on to access a clearing-house of information.

Once there, visitors can utilise the 'Ask the Engineer' section and pose technical or general questions to Baldor engineers.

Part of the ProSpec service is a guarantee that those questions will be answered by a Baldor engineer within one (1) business day.

Other features of the site will include access to the most up-to-date product specifications, performance data, wiring diagrams, access to noise and vibration data, technical manuals and drawing downloads.

Additional educational features will include computer based tutorials, white papers and registration for on-site workshops.

For a limited time, visitors can also register to win a Palm Pilot PDA.

"Our research indicates that specifying and consulting engineers who spec motor, drive and generator products are looking for a peer with whom they can consult and from whom they can acquire the latest, most up-to-date technical information available, related to their needs," says Dunn.

"That is exactly what ProSpec was designed to provide".

Dunn adds, "ProSpec is about building relationships with specifying engineers who may not have a purchase order on their desk right now, but have a need for information and advice on an application or a project that they are putting their name and reputation on.

ProSpec gives them an opportunity to develop a relationship with a manufacturer who provides quality information, quality products and quality solutions.

It's not only about selling products they spec who can provide them with the best information, the best products, and the best solutions, so they can make the best decisions". Request a free brochure from Baldor UK ...
