A new range of lightweight dry-block thermal calibrators that operate between 45C below ambient and 650C has been developed by Techne for convenient use in the field.

The three models in the new Tecal F range incorporate the well-known control system used on the Techne existing standard products to provide good reliability and accuracy, with a number of improvements such as an improved display resolution of 0.01C and faster heating and cooling times.

The Tecal 140F operates between 45C below ambient (typically -20C) and 140C with temperature accuracy of +/-0.3C and temperature uniformity of +/-0.2C.

Heating time to 100C is five minutes.

The medium-temperature Tecal 425F operates from 20C above ambient to 425C and reaches maximum temperature in 12 minutes.

It weighs 6.3kg and has the same temperature accuracy and uniformity performance as the 140F model.

Operating up to 650C, the Tecal 650F has been designed for high-temperature calibration.

Temperature accuracy is +/-0.4C and uniformity +/-1C.

All the models are offered with or without RS-232 communications and can be used with a wide choice of inserts to suit different probe sizes.

Automatic fan cooling is standard, with accelerated cooling probes also available.
