Bachelor Controls has renewed its prestigious CSIA Certified Member status by passing the Control System Integrators Association landmark Best Practices and Benchmarks audit process for the third time

The company passed its first audit in 2000 The Control System Integrators Association is an organization committed to the business development of control system integration companies and their implementation of best practices in order to provide a healthy, low-risk channel for the application of technology to its industrial clients

CSIA Certified Members must pass a rigorous audit process, which is performed by a third-party auditor and measures a company performance against criteria in seven business areas - business development, financial management, general management, human resources, project management, quality management, and technical management.

Firms that achieve this standard carry the 'CSIA Certified' brand.

To maintain certification, these firms must undergo an audit every three years.

"The certification process has twin missions," said CSIA Executive Director Norm O'Leary: "One, to assist users in evaluating and selecting integration firms, and two, to provide control and information system integrators a means to evaluate and continuously improve their own businesses.

Becoming certified and maintaining that high level of commitment reflects the latter mission.

Preparation for the audit, whether for the first time or to re-certify, takes a substantial commitment in time and resources.

However, that investment is proving to be returned for companies that become Certified".

Ray Bachelor, president of Bachelor Controls and currently serving a two-year term as chairman of the CSIA Executive Board, said, "We are pleased to have once again earned CSIA Certified Member status.

Being one of the first two firms to pass the audit a third time demonstrates our support and commitment to setting and maintaining quality standards in the systems integration community.

CSIA is the premier benchmarking organization in the control and systems integration industry.

Recognition as a CSIA Certified Member is a testament to our project methodologies, financial stability and depth of service".

The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) is in its second decade of "helping better system integrators become better business people".

Members gain the power of the association's broader presence and its insights into the best business and project management practices for the automation and IT domains.

The CSIA trademark Certified Member Programme provides an industry-specific means for end users to minimise uncertainties in selecting a system integrator and offers a framework for integrators to evaluate and continuously improve their own businesses.
