Beko offers compressed-air testing for body shops
The service department of Beko Technologies, a compressed-air specialist, has recently started working in the body shop/refinishing industry sector.
Beko now provides a cost-effective service for testing and auditing breathing air used in body shops.
Barry Briscoe, technical manager of Beko, said: 'We joined the VBRA [Vehicle Building Repair Association] recently in order to gain an insight into the needs of this very specialised industry.
'What we found was that many body shops are unaware of the need for high-quality compressed air, particularly for breathing use.
'We also discovered that process problems in spraying could often be simply fixed by improving air quality, resulting in fewer blemishes and less need for re-working,' he added.
In response to these findings, Beko has defined a service especially for body shops.
The first visit is free and involves a short inspection of the installed compressed-air system, including an energy-efficiency and air-quality analysis.
After this, Beko will offer a tailormade solution for the body shop, including regular air-quality testing to ensure that legal obligations are met.
'Compressed air remains a "black art" to many body shop people; this means they are missing both their legal requirements and maybe a straightforward way to significantly improve finish quality and reduce rejection rates,' said Briscoe.
Being a member of the VBRA means that Beko can call on this body for information to ensure that it offers a solution suited to the industry.
