The efficient use of light in insect exterminators
In recent years, the sensitivity of insects to different wavelengths of light has been the subject of extensive research: many modern exterminator units now produce both ultraviolet and green light
This means the units can be installed in potentially hazardous areas such as grain, animal feed and coal storage facilities, flour mills, sugar factories and large bakeries, where combustible dusts can easily ignite, leading to catastrophic explosions.
The Ex-certified Insectron units have II 3 D and T105 classifications and comply with EN 50014 : 1997 and EN 50281-1-1 : 1998.
They also have IP65 ingress protection for use in both wet and dusty environments.
This means they are ideal for use in areas where water is regularly sprayed, such as dairy plants and abattoirs, or in dusty environments like paper mills, board converting facilities and packaging plants.
The ATEX certificate was awarded by Kema, the internationally recognised certifying body, which is a member of the European Network for Quality System Assessment and Certification (EQNET).
The Insectron range is designed, manufactured and distributed at the Berson state-of-the-art facility in the Netherlands.
Widely regarded as the leading insect exterminator on the market, it is marketed throughout Europe by an extensive network of distributors.
