New higher output Insectron lamps last longer
New UV-A lamps designed specifically for the Insectron range of insect exterminators now have 250% higher output than their predecessors with 60% lower energy consumption
New UV-A lamps designed specifically for the Insectron range of insect exterminators now have 250% higher output than their predecessors with 60% lower energy consumption.
They also have a peak wavelength between 350-360nm, which research has shown to be the optimal wavelength for attracting house flies.
The performance of the new lamps is constantly high for their entire lifetime (up to one year), with 2.5 times more output at end of their life than conventional lamps.
In addition, they no longer contain lead and so comply with new regulations coming into force in 2006.
In addition to the new UV-A lamps, all Insectron systems can also be fitted with a separate green lamp.
Research shows that UV-A only attracts insects while they are in flight; when resting, they are attracted to green light.
For this reason Insectron units can contain both types of lamps to ensure optimum insect attraction.
Insectrons utilise ultraviolet (UV-A) and green light to attract flying insects, particularly flies, which are very sensitive to these two light sources.
It is designed especially for industrial, catering and agricultural applications where hygiene is vital.
Examples include food and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, bakeries, restaurants, livestock farms and grain storage facilities.
Effective over areas of up to 400m2, Insectron units are constructed from stainless steel and have IP65-rated splash-proof housings as standard.
All models are designed and built under ISO9001 conditions, are certified by KEMA, the internationally recognised certifying body, and have a five year guarantee.
The EX range has also been granted ATEX approval for use in explosive, dusty and wet environments.
The Insectron range is manufactured by Berson UV in the Netherlands, a world leader in UV technology.
As part of its strategy the company constantly anticipates new developments and produces new Insectron technology to meet the changing needs of industry.
A key factor in the evolution of Insectron is continuous research, which is carried out in collaboration with universities, research institutes and industry.
