UV disinfection systems for wastewater re-use
Netherlands-based ultraviolet (UV) disinfection specialist Berson UV-techniek will be launching its closed-channel medium pressure UV disinfection system at the WSDWTF 2007 exhibition in Shanghai
Netherlands-based ultraviolet (UV) disinfection specialist Berson UV-techniek will be launching its closed-channel medium pressure UV disinfection system at the WSDWTF 2007 exhibition in Shanghai this April.
The Berson UV system is close to becoming the first closed-channel UV system in the world to gain approval to the NWRI standard for the treatment of water and effluent for reuse.
"NWRI is the only wastewater standard in the world, so this is a major achievement by Berson, who lead the way in groundbreaking UV technology for wastewater treatment," said the Berson Managing Director Sjors van Gaalen: "Wastewater re-use is an increasingly important method of creating a new source of water in dry areas of the world.
The USA has led the way in re-using wastewater for irrigation since the 1970s, so validation of the Berson InLine by the NWRI is the highest achievement possible," he added.
