Multiphase Technology 2004, to be held in Banff, Canada on 3/4 June, addresses the key multiphase issues and brings together experts to share and exchange high quality technical information

The application of multiphase technology in the oil and gas industry has led to some remarkable improvements in production performance and allowed companies to extend their operations and address previously insoluble transportation problems to improve efficiency and profitability Despite the successes there are still challenges associated with implementing sustainable, safe and environmentally acceptable solutions

Business, economic, and technical rewards are there for those who extend the boundaries of the technology.

To determine properly how and when multiphase technology can and should be deployed, engineers must understand what can be achieved and how the limitations can be overcome.

The industry needs access to high quality information to assess the potential benefits and risks of the technology.

The lessons learnt, modelling techniques developed and practical experiences of users can be of real value to engineers in a range of industries including oil and gas, process, chemicals, mining, water and power industries.

Multiphase Technology 2004, to be held in Banff, Canada on 3/4 June 2004, addresses the key multiphase issues and brings together experts from around to share and exchange high quality technical information.

The conference is the fourth North American BHR Group conference on this important subject and builds on the success of its predecessors to promote the business, economic and technical rewards of multiphase.

BHR Group is internationally recognised across Europe as a centre of excellence in multiphase research and technical development, and for its leading series of multiphase conferences, which have been running in Europe since 1983.

Over the past twenty years the technology has developed from theoretical beginnings to a level of maturity where it now offers a practical technological solution for many transportation problems.

As the premier event in its field, Multiphase 2004 presents delegates with the ideal opportunity to discuss new research and developments, consider innovative solutions and explore technology transfer between industries including oil and gas, process, chemical, mining, water and power.

Separate conference sessions will cover a diverse range of multiphase technology topics including: flow simulation and modelling; on-shore; metering, instrumentation and control; pipelines; flow assurance; slug flow; physical chemistry; pumping.

Dr Alan P Burns, Research and Development Manager, Total E and P Norge AS, has been invited to make the opening address.

During the 1990s Dr Burns was chairman of the long-running BHR European-based Multiphase Conference and previously spent 14 years with BHR Group where he became Director of Oil and Gas operations before moving to Elf UK and subsequently Total in 1991.

The conference is designed for everyone engaged in the application, development and research of multiphase technology for the oil and gas industry.

It offers particular value to designers, facility and operations engineers, consultants and researchers from operating, contracting, consultancy and technology companies.

Applications in oil and gas may also interest engineers from other industries for whom multiphase technology offers a novel solution to their problems.

BHR Group is organising the conference in collaboration with TUFFP, USA, Neotechnology Consultants Ltd, Canada, Scandpower Petroleum Technology Inc, USA, and Aspen Technology Inc, Canada.
