European BioPharm Scale-up Congress 2006
Driving bioscience through bioprocessing is the main theme for the European BioPharm scale-up congress in Geneva from 12-14 September
Whilst this is a most exciting time for those developing biopharmaceutical drugs, as we enter an age of unprecedented development of pharmaceutical therapeutics it is not without its challenges Deciding which of the thousands of drug targets to develop is difficult, but once the target is chosen, it is imperative that development and scale-up is fast, efficient and without regulatory issues

The European BioPharm Scale-up Congress will provide up-to-date, practical information to professionals involved in developing and manufacturing pharmaceutical products through biotechnology.
This congress is a comprehensive examination of the science, technology and business behind the discipline of bioprocessing, covering upstream and downstream aspects of biological expression, scale-up, isolation, purification and extraction.
Key speakers include:.
* Dr Dorothee Ambrosius, Director, Downstream Development, Boehringer Ingelheim.
* Dr Hans-Peter Knopf, Head, Protein Expression Technologies, Novartis Pharma.
* Mr Thomas Smith, Director, Downstream Process Development, GlaxoSmithKline R+D.
* Prof Florian Wurm, Professor of Biotechnology, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).
* Dr Eli Keshavarz-Moore, Reader, Biochemical Engineering, University College London.
* Professor John Birch, Chief Scientific Officer, Lonza Biologics.
The event features a 'Talk show' format: this avoids the normal conference problems of spending too long staring at PowerPoint slides.
At this Congress, slides are kept to a vital minimum.
Instead, incisive talk-show style Q+A means you'll see speakers challenged on their presentations.
Our focus on interactive panel discussions makes the audience as much a part of the learning experience as the speakers.
Our moderators are briefed to stimulate controversy, so you can expect fireworks! Further, our acclaimed 'Speed Networking' gives delegates the opportunity to arrange to meet all the decision makers at the conference, to briefly swap business cards.
Make the contacts and schedule the meetings that will fill your lunch and coffee breaks over the 2 days of the conference.
The European BioPharm Scale Up Congress will take place from 12 -14 September 2006 at the Palace Hilton in Geneva, and is organised by Terrapinn, based in London.
