'Cost-effective Fabrication and Application of SS'
Building on the success of earlier stainless steel fabrication workshops, the next in the series takes place on 6 March at Doosan Babcock Energy, Renfrew, on cost-effective fabrication and application
The seminar will concentrate on practical help, including advice concerning grade selection, fabrication and welding 'dos and don'ts'.
It will also highlight post-fabrication cleaning.
Specialists from Outokumpu Stainless, TWI and the British Stainless Steel Association [BSSA] will outline the best welding practices and correct some of the current misconceptions concerning fabricating with stainless steel.
The workshop should interest anyone already involved in the fabrication of products in stainless steel but equally will be of interest for those with little or no experience of working with the material.
The event is organised by TWI, Outokumpu Stainless and the BSSA under the Joining Forces Wales banner in association with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, the Association of Welding Distributors and Material Network Wales.
Both the Welding Institute and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining will accredit the workshop as a CPD event.
Space is limited and previous workshops have been well attended, so early booking is recommended.
The enrolment fee is GBP55 + VAT which includes provision of lunch and a copy of the workshop handbook.
