Assessment in all cases was by LRQA, widely considered to be one of the most rigorous certification bodies.
It gives Biwater one of the highest scores on Verify, the website used by many water companies to check potential suppliers' compliance with standards.
"It is clear that today clients expect formal confirmation from contractors that they are actively managing their quality and environmental performance," said operations director John Abraham.
"OHSAS 18001 is not so well-known, but we expect that it too will become a requirement as the importance of health and safety issues grows".
Biwater's safety-consciousness was recognised last year when it won the Severn Trent Health and Safety Award for its performance during work on the new Buxton Sewage Treatment Plant.
