With more than 20 years experience in the oilfield services industry, he brings an in-depth knowledge of engineering, technical operations and management.
Prior to his promotion, Link, 43, served for three years as country manager-Norway for BJ Services Well Services Division in Stavanger.
Previously, he worked in Saudi Arabia for six years where he was country manager based in Dhahran.
He joined BJ Services in l983 in Canada, and served in a number of engineering and operations roles until 1992 when he was appointed operations manager-Russia based in Houston.
"This is a very exciting time.
While I look forward to developing the many opportunities for BJ PPS globally, I will also be focusing on maintaining the division's long-term relationships with existing clients," said Link.
"It goes without saying that the experience and calibre of the BJ PPS team is outstanding, and is directly responsible for making the division the leading provider of pipeline and process services in the world.
To ensure that the quality of service and technologies we employ remains high, it is my intention to continue the commitment to training, research and innovation currently undertaken by BJ PPS," he added.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Link holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration-Finance from the University of Calgary.
He is also an active member of APEGGA and also SPE.
Based at the division's global headquarters in Aberdeen, Link reports to Bill Stewart, president and chief executive officer of BJ Services.
Link replaces former BJ PPS general manager John Adams, who held the position for the past nine years.
Adams, who was head of the Pipeline Services Division for Nowsco for eight years until it was acquired by BJ Services in 1996, recently retired from BJ PPS in order to move back to Canada where he plans to teach and pursue a variety of business interests.
