New MD for Black and Veatch Contracting

Black and Veatch Contracting, the worldwide water and waste treatment process engineers, has appointed Rosemary Thomas as its new Managing Director: Rosemary steps up from Financial Director

Black and Veatch Contracting, the worldwide water and waste treatment process engineers, has appointed Rosemary Thomas as its new Managing Director.

Stepping up from her position as Financial Director, Rosemary replaces John Youings, who after 6 years as MD, will now concentrate on specific contract assignments, such as the Black and Veatch/Costain joint venture board for the major K3 framework with Southern Water.

Since joining Black and Veatch in 1989 as Financial Accountant, Rosemary has also worked in the key role of Chief Accountant and Company Secretary, until becoming Financial Director in 1995 an then Divisional Finance Officer in 2000.

Prior to Black and Veatch Contracting (known at the time as Paterson Candy) Rosemary held positions as In-Charge Auditor with KPMG.

She has a Law Degree, is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of ICAEW.

Rosemary also holds the post of Assistant Division Head of the Europe Water Division of Black and Veatch.

This latest appointment is one of a number of significant senior management moves made of late by Black and Veatch as it strengthens its global position.

The leading engineering, consulting and construction company that specializes in infrastructure development in energy, water and information, recently made David Nickols the new President of the company's Europe Water Division, whilst Angela Hoffman took over as the new Division Finance Officer.
