Flow control specialist Bio-Chem Valve has developed a range of compact, space-saving valves for precision gradient mixing and diverting applications.

The miniature, manifold mounted solenoid valves are available in the UK and Europe from Omnifit.

They simulate a constant flow by rapid cycling, and dispense gradients from multiple fluid streams in precise, repeatable volumes.

The valves feature an innovative armature, which drives the valve faster with less energy.

Every actuator is individually set to ensure equal flow rates at the same pressure.

The valves have an ultra-fast response time of only 2 milliseconds when used with the Bio-Chem Valve CoolCube control module, making them ideal for gradient applications.

Through rapid cycling of the solenoid the valves can be used to provide modulating flow rates at constant pressures.

For ease of installation, all inlet ports are positioned on the same side of the manifold, with the common outlet port centred between the inlet ports.

When used for diverting applications the inlet and outlet ports are reversed.

The valves, which have minimal dead volume, are offered in PTFE, PEEK and PPS.

Diaphragm materials are offered in PTFE, EPDM, Viton and Perfluoroelastomer.

The standard gradient and flow selection valve configurations can be modified to meet an equipment designer specifications and used in a wide variety of applications.

A choice of light-weight, space-saving manifold layouts is available and the valves and ports can be configured in a radial or linear arrangement to meet the unique physical space, size and weight restrictions of the project.
