The BiODE ViscNet product is an in-line measurement technique for process control in manufacturing environments, designed to provide instantaneous, real-time in-process viscosity measurements

It was announced today that BiODE has launched its new ViscNet viscosity control and monitoring hub for industrial connectivity on a plant-wide scale for process control markets.

The ViscNet is an industrial, 8-channel process controller, each channel supporting a ViSmart viscosity sensor and a control.

For plant-wide scalability, up to eight ViSmart can be connected to the ViscNet and can deliver outputs (4-20 mA, TCP/IP) for integration and control of solenoid valves and pumps.

The ViscNet can support up to 300m cable runs from the ViSmart.

Essential features of the ViscNet are its support of "plug-n-play" ViSmart sensor replacement and installation, its USB, CanBus, Profibus, RS232/485, TCP/IP, and 4 - 20mA connectivity options and its friendly simple to use interface.

ViscNet will be industry compliant with international safety standards and will employ intrinsic safety barriers for explosion-proof ViSmart viscosity sensor and control operation and may be clustered for larger, factory-wide control system requirements.

The ViscNet also allows for Intranet and internet data access and analysis allows remote process evaluation and control.

In addition, interactive historical data can be displayed both locally and remotely.

The BiODE ViscNet product is an in-line measurement technique for process control in manufacturing environments, designed to provide instantaneous, real-time in-process viscosity measurements, providing customers with a continuous digital audit trail.

It provides the process operator with a cost-effective and flexible tool to reduce operating costs, minimize process errors, improves final product quality while increasing productivity and enabling increased control of process parameters.
