This has culminated in the re-launch of its range of standard freeze dryers, streamlined to meet the exacting demands of cGMP, but also at a very attractive price.

The original modular SMH system was extremely popular due to its reliability and customisability and the SMH Monoskid builds on these features with improved compactness and ease of maintenance.

It is constructed from only commercially available industrial components, and fully meets all GMP, FDA and GAMP guidelines.

A unique patented stoppering system allows for adjustable speed and force and enables the freeze dryer to be used with one or more shelves empty without damage to product or machine.

The condenser is situated in a physically separate chamber below the drying chamber to enable a smaller footprint and facilitate faster vapour flow.

De-icing can be done via steam or a hot water spray, and a remote digital camera can be fitted to view ice build-up.

The control system, either Allen Bradley or Siemens, is an InTouch SCADA with InSQL database, providing a wide range of options and tools including recipe management, audit trail, account management and reporting.

A wide range of performance options is available for the refrigeration system including a super-cool liquid nitrogen option.

Condenser capacities range from 65 to 250 kg and shelf capacity from 2 to 15.6 m2.

This year Biopharma was pleased to take part in a successful bid for the sale of three such systems, complete with automatic loading and unloading systems.
