Automated control system for Cuddon

Cuddon Freeze Dry have recently completed an upgrade to include a fully automated operating and control system into their range of batch and continuous freeze drying machinery
The automated control system uses an Omron PLC, connected to a 10inch Omron touchscreen control system, allowing the operator complete control on one screen at literally the touch of a button With programming capacity for 15 recipes, each with 15 steps, data storage for over 250 cycles and software to allow analysis of historic data, the newly adopted system offers both flexibility and information for cycle development

John Cuddon, Managing Director of Cuddon Freeze Dry, said the changes were a result of customer feedback over the need to align its freeze dryers more closely with technology as it emerged.

Whilst the new system is far more advanced, the simplistic graphic interface remains user-friendly.

Other features of the system include external alarm device settings and remote operating facilities that enable engineers to monitor the equipment from anywhere in the world.
