Peter Brotherhood has expanded its Aftermarket Division and opened a new purpose-built engineering service centre dedicated to providing after sales services

Peter Brotherhood has expanded its Aftermarket Division and opened a new purpose-built engineering service centre dedicated to providing after sales services The new centre, based in Peterborough, will service, repair and refurbish reciprocating and rotating machinery manufactured by Peter Brotherhood as well as by other companies

The 500 sq m (5,380 sq ft ) building has been fully equipped with state-of-the-art light machine centres as well as lifting equipment and assembly areas purposely designed so that work can be carried out quickly and efficiently.

Peter Brotherhood has seen an increase in the number of machines brought into the factory for refurbishment over recent years, a trend that looks set to continue with the increasing number of new contracts being won by the company.

Investment in new premises, equipment and machinery to increase capacity for the additional workload was therefore critical to enable it to support its growing customer base effectively.

The service centre has been designed so that work can be turned around quickly.

Highly qualified, dedicated service engineers have been employed to undertake the repair, overhaul and refurbishing of a wide range of reciprocating and rotating equipment.

Peter Brotherhood provides around the clock engineering support services to its customers throughout the world.

These services extend from installing and commissioning equipment through to on-site servicing, repairs, up-rating and re-engineering.

"The aftermarket business has increased in recent years and we have seen an influx of orders that has prompted us to set up a dedicated service centre," said Bob Paterson, aftermarket director at Peter Brotherhood: "The Peter Brotherhood skills and expertise in working in the reciprocating and rotating machinery business, means that we are very well placed to serve this aftermarket effectively".

Peter Brotherhood employs almost 300 people at its manufacturing facility in Peterborough.

It has built an international reputation as a specialist engineering company that designs and manufactures steam turbines, reciprocating gas compressors, combined heat and power (CHP) systems and special purpose machinery which it supplies to businesses across the globe.

In 2007 the company will be celebrating 140 years in business and 100 years in Peterborough.

In addition to this, Peter Brotherhood has also been designing and manufacturing steam turbines for 100 years.
