Hygienic level switch for food and beverage use

A Baumer Group product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 9, 2008

With the LSM level switch, Baumer process instrumentation offers a hygienic level measurement device available with different 3A approved process connections

It is especially suitable for the use in the food and beverage industry.

The models LSM021, LSM026 and LSM031 are 3A approved in combination with a process connection that is also 3A approved.

All wetted parts are made of acid-proof stainless steel or PEEK thermoplastic respectively.

The products fulfil the FDA demands and follow the EHEDG guidelines regarding design, materials and finishing.

Point level measurement is one of the most common applications in the food and beverage industry.

Regardless of tank size and type (open or closed) or the cleaning method (manually or by CIP), the equipment has to be designed for highest possible food safety standards.

Therefore, only FDA approved materials can be used.

At the same time, the equipment must be easy to clean.

The hygienic LSM models fulfil these high standards.

Thanks to integrated electronics and no moving parts, the switch is maintenance-free.

It measures the level of liquids, viscous fluids and even some dry media regardless of its mounting position and without being influenced by foam, bubbles, lumps or vibration.

A LED indicator shows the detection of liquid.

The precise switching point is reached without calibration.

The LSM process temperature ranges from -20 to 85C.
