Multiphase technology continues to deliver remarkable improvements in production performance to allow companies to extend their operations and address previously insoluble transportation problems
Multiphase technology continues to deliver remarkable improvements in production performance to allow companies to extend their operations and address previously insoluble transportation problems Although the principles of the technology are now well understood, the people who have driven its adoption in the past and those who will take it forward in the future have very different experiences

Pipeline protection papers sought for Cyprus
A pipeline is often the most environmentally-friendly, efficient and cost-effective way of transporting liquids and gases; BHR issue a call for papers for their next Pipeline Protection Conference
On the one hand are highly experienced specialists with years in the field who have considerable knowledge and to whom industry looks to keep the technology developing through the adoption of novel operational solutions and innovative techniques.
On the other are younger engineers, trained in the latest techniques and eager to contribute to multiphase development, but who need to understand quickly and effectively the key aspects of the technology.
Both groups have much to offer the on-going debate about the future application of multiphase through the combination of new and existing skills.

Multiphase Production Technology 2007 is the 13th in a series of highly successful multiphase conferences organised by BHR Group since 1983.
The conference has established itself as one of Europe's premier events on the subject by attracting technical experts, innovators and leaders in the application and operation of multiphase from around the world.
The event, which will be held at the Roxburghe Hotel, Edinburgh, Scotland on 13-15 June 2007, is now open for registration.
The conference has a new structure this year to reflect the constantly changing nature of the technology and the evolving requirements of the experienced and younger industry specialists.
At the request of past delegates the number of presentations has been reduced but with each speaker given longer to address the conference and answer questions.
Presentations have been organised into a series of themes designed to cover the key issues facing the industry: field experience of the oil and gas majors, simulation and modelling to optimise design or production, prediction tools for improved flow assurance, accurate metering for fiscal measurement and flow control, and in field performance of production and process equipment.
In total almost 30 original papers will be presented in sessions focusing on headline themes, the technologies and applications such as:.
Flows.
Slugs.
Solids.
Interactions.
Metering.
Pumps.
Field Applications.
Field Validation.
The proceedings will be supplemented by a series of poster presentations.
The opening address will be given by Dr Garry Gregory, a leading exponent of multiphase, from Gregory Engineering of Calgary.
The conference is designed for everyone engaged in the application, development and research of multiphase technology for the oil and gas industry.
It offers particular value to designers, facility and operations engineers, consultants and researchers from operating, contracting, consultancy and technology companies.
Applications in oil and gas may also interest engineers from other industries for whom multiphase technology offers a novel solution to their problems.
The event is supported by Institut Francais du Petrole, Technology Initiatives and The University of Tulsa, and is sponsored by BP, Bornemann Pumps and SPT Group.
BP, a longstanding supporter of the conference, will present a special award for the most outstanding contribution.
