Conference on improving mixing processes
This two day course covers single and multiphase mixing and reaction applications, scaling up and down, equipment selection, and high intensity mixing and operation in industrial applications
The course, 'Improving mixing processes for industrial applications' is scheduled for 20-21 November 2007 at the BHR Group, an independent world class centre of expertise in fluid engineering and process technology Day One - provides an introduction to mixing concepts, processes and equipment and emphasises the importance of mixing in the process industries

Day Two - covers advanced topics such as single and multiphase mixing applications in more detail and includes liquid blending, solid-liquid mixing, liquid-liquid dispersions, and gas-liquid mixing.
A tour of mixing facilities with demonstrations of physical and numerical models is included.
Delegates can choose to attend either or both days.
Mixing is fundamental to process efficiency and product quality.
It supports: flexibility in operation (multiple products from one plant; variable batch sizes) product consistency and repeatability success in scale-up/scale-down.
The course aims to: communicate the principles of fluid mixing, provide recommendations for process design and scale-up, enable participants to apply these principles and recommendations to their mixing processes/problems, enable participants to discuss specifications for selecting and operating mixing equipment.
Further information about the course can be obtained from Marian Rolfe at Cranfield.
