Developments in multiphase technology have helped the oil and gas industry deliver remarkable improvements in production performance, and address previously insoluble transportation problems

The technology has moved from theory to practical applications in a range of climates, topographical environments and ecological challenges Business, economic, and technical rewards are there for those who extend the boundaries of the technology but the industry needs access to high quality information to assess the potential benefits and risks

The lessons learnt, modelling techniques developed and practical experiences of users can be of real value to engineers in a range of industries including oil and gas, process, chemicals, mining, water and power industries.

Multiphase Technology 2008 is the sixth in a series of successful multiphase conferences organised by BHR Group in North America.

This highly popular event has established its reputation by attracting technical experts and innovators and leaders in the application and operation of multiphase from around the world.

Registration is now open for the conference which will be held in Banff, Canada on 4-6 June 2008.

BHR Group is internationally recognised across Europe as a centre of excellence in multiphase research and technical development, and for its leading series of multiphase conferences, which have been running in Europe since 1983.

Over the past 25 years the technology has developed from theoretical beginnings to a level of maturity where it now offers practical solutions for many transportation problems.

Multiphase Technology 2008 is an ideal opportunity for delegates to discuss new research and developments, consider innovative solutions and explore technology transfer between different industries.

The opening address will be given by Professor Jim Brill from the University of Tulsa, a conference regular who will be sharing his knowledge and expertise of the industry.

Papers scheduled for presentation cover a wide range of technical and practical areas and include real life case studies.

Separate sessions will cover new approaches to flow simulation; new applications; equipment for transportation; stratified flow; solids flow; heavy oil applications; flow simulation; flow assurance; and steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) equipment.

The conference is designed for everyone engaged in the application, development and research of multiphase technology for the oil and gas industry.

It offers particular value to designers, facility and operations engineers, consultants and researchers from operating, contracting, consultancy and technology companies.

Applications in oil and gas may also interest engineers from other industries for whom multiphase technology offers novel solutions.

BHR Group is organising the conference with support from TUFFP, USA, and Neotechnology Consultants , Canada with sponsorship from New Technology Magazine, SPT Group, Bornemann and Neotechnology Consultants .

The conference is preceded by a two day Slurry Handling training course organised by BHR Group for 2 - 3 June to provide practical advice to those involved with the design and specification of plant and systems to handle solids in liquids.
