Research reactor batches use Coriolis technology
In designing the reactor feed, great emphasis was placed on accurate material delivery and fluid containment: a Coriolis flowmeter and control valve are used to provide the critical flow control
Established in 1981, Bronkhorst BV was formed by two engineers with novel ideas for gas mass flow control products using thermal techniques.
Initially targeted at the market for control of gas flows within semiconductor manufacturing machinery, joint technology agreements were signed between Bronkhorst High-Tech and Porter Instrument Company for the North American market and Oval Corporation for the Asian markets, to provide worldwide customer support across similar product ranges.
The product range grew to include pressure control systems, and liquid mass flow controllers using the thermal principle.

Fieldbus-compatible sensors were introduced as early as 1992 with the RS485-based Flow-Bus, and later DeviceNet and Profibus-DP systems.
Recently Bronkhorst BV has introduced Coriolis effect mass flow measurement and controller systems for both gases and liquids.
The company is approved to ISO9001 and ISO14001, and currently employs over 200 people.
The commitment to advanced customer focused research into new techniques continues, with over 70 staff involved in R and D.
Bronkhorst UK, based near Cambridge, is staffed with a team of sales applications, product support, calibration and service engineers.
All are experienced in custom engineering of solutions to mass flow control, not only with single instruments but particularly with multi-stream instruments that minimise gas panels and eliminate inter-connecting pipework.
The application engineers cover the UK regions to promote sales of Bronkhorst Coriolis and thermal fluid measurement techniques to high technology industries, such as semiconductor manufacturing, research and laboratory applications such as chromatography and spectroscopy in particular for accurate gas blending and doping in industries as diverse as fuel cells, food, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and petrochemicals.
The Cambridge recalibration and repair service provides the traceable calibration certification regularly required for all Bronkhorst equipment including those mass flow controllers manufactured by Porter Instrument USA or Oval Techno Corp of Japan.
Furthermore, this service is not limited to only Bronkhorst product as it is extended to all makes of gas thermal mass flow controller.
