Bronkhorst have announced that their Cori-Flow liquid and gas mass flow meter is now ATEX approved for use in hazardous areas.

The Cori-Flow uses the Coriolis flow measurement principle, making the measurement independent of fluid properties such as viscosity, density or conductivity: it is available in sizes that cover measurements significantly below 20 grams/hour up to 600Kg/hr.

The ultra low flow capability enables the Cori-Flow to be operated in very low flow applications such as dosing and blending or on pilot plants.

The precise, repeatable and fast "true flow" response enables Cori-Flow to be operated within spraying, coating and filling applications, where better than a 30 millisecond speed of response is required.

Bronkhorst have been specialists in gas and liquid mass flow measurement and control for 25 years, and have particular expertise in providing mass flow controllers.

The electronics processing system has a built-in PID control loop, and when directly coupled, or close-coupled to a control valve, this ensures fast and accurate flow control - all proportional to the setpoint command signal received.

This is continued with the Cori-Flow product range and even extended to include direct pump control, scripting of flow response, density change alarms, and unstable condition alarms.

Flow control capability is from <1% to 100% of the full scale flow rate.

Cori-Flow can provide digital and bus interfaces with control systems using standard formats such as RS232, Profibus, DeviceNet, and Modbus - in addition to galvanically isolated analogue signals such as 4-20mA or 0-5 Vdc.

Cori-Flow requires no external, separately mounted control unit or transmitter interface, it provides complete measurement and control from the single compact unit mounted in the flowline.

All the Bronkhorst mass flow measurement and control systems will be on display at the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering in Glasgow (10th - 14th July): come visit Stand 4.7 to see the ATEX approved Cori-Flow and other ATEX pressure and flow sensor and control equipment for both gases and liquids.
