Brownell, founded in 1963, designs and manufactures desiccators, desiccant bags, humidity indicators, protection barriers and DP relief valves to prevent moisture and atmospheric related problems

The company was founded in 1963 for the design, manufacture and development of desiccators, desiccant bags, humidity indicators, protection barriers and pressure relief valves to prevent moisture and atmospheric related problems in electronic, optic, packaging containers and many other commercial and military applications.

Brownell customers include Air Products, Alenia Marconi, Alstom, Amersham Plc, Bae Systems, British Energy Generation, Eurotunnel, Integrated Utilities, Northrup Grumman, Police Aviation Services, Raytheon, Smiths, Thales, Wyco EMS.

The company currently employs 30 personnel and is situated on a modern industrial estate in North West London.

The extensive Brownell range of products include Desiccators, Desiccant Sachet, Desiccant Port, Drum Vent Dryer, FOOG Vent, Humidity Indicator, Immersion Breather, Moisture Board, Pressure Relief Valve, Shock and Vibration, Tank Vent Dryer and Transformer Breather.

This range has been developed to include a series of moisture and atmospheric protection solutions for instruments, commercial products and packaging containers: recently Brownell has introduced Envirogel, the best alternative to blue (cobalt chloride) indicating silica gel (see envirogel.co.uk) and also the NEPS1000, a dry nitrogen gas purging system, see neps1000.com.

The company operates in most international markets, and has partner companies in the USA, France, Canada and Australia, plus a network of sales and service agents in other territories world-wide.
