Following a review by the European Commission, changes have been introduced which means BS EN 50419:2005 has been replaced by BS EN 50419:2006 For full compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, it is important that manufacturers, producers and distributors of electrical and electronic equipment within the EU have the most up-to-date version

BS EN 50419:2006 Marking of electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with Article 11(2) of Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) contains the marking requirements needed to meet the requirements of the WEEE Directive.

The revised standard contains additional information relating to the marking requirements, including positioning, visibility, dimensions, location and referenced documents.

The marking serves to clearly identify the producer of the equipment and that the equipment has been put on the market after 13 August 2005.

BS EN 50419:2006 supersedes BS EN 50419:2005 which has been withdrawn.

An associated relevant publication from BSI is the loose-leaf fomat with A4 Binder publication: "The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive - A Survey of Requirements and Implementation".

The second part of the survey focuses in detail on the situation in a range of European countries, focusing on EU Member States.

New information on countries' implementing measures will be added as it becomes available, including information on countries not included in this edition.

ISBN 0 580 48668 0.
