Smoke free labelling solutions for your premises

A Buck and Hickman product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team May 17, 2007

Leading industrial supplier BuckHickman InOne has introduced a range of products and solutions to help industry meet the requirements for signage specified by the new smoke free legislation

Already established in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, England is enforcing the ban from July 2007.

The legislation means that no one will be able to smoke in the workplace and it is up to employers to enforce the ban.

Solutions from BuckHickman InOne include a no smoking signage starter pack, signage, a wide range of self-extinguishing ashtray bins and external smoking shelters plus exterior lighting.

The no smoking signage starter pack offers managers a cost-effective way of implementing the no smoking policy with a wide range of signs.

It contains two larger No smoking signs, ten additional No smoking signs, 30 No smoking symbol stickers, four No smoking in the toilet signs, four Please do not smoke desk signs and 2 Smoking area signs.

In addition a range of signage is sold as separate items.

Ashtray bins available from the company include wall mounted, floor, freestanding towers, pillar mounted and self-extinguishing options.

Two simple self-assembly smoking shelters provide an external facility for employees or customers who wish to smoke.

Both options meet the legal requirements for at least 50% open sides.

BuckHickman InOne can also supply either bulkhead or external fluorescent lighting for the shelters and seating.

Comments product manager Tamara Booth: Employers must be seen to enforce the new smoke free legislation on their premises.

Failure to do so can result in a fine of GBP200 rising to GBP2,500 if manager fails to stop smokers lighting up.

You can also be fined for not putting up no smoking signs.

At the same time it is in your interests to look after all your employees and customers, including those who may want to smoke.

Providing an outdoor shelter that conforms to the legislation helps meet these needs.
