Breakthrough in sealing for steam and
acids
Hot water and steam are recognised as two of the most difficult environments for seals, so test results for perfluoroelastomer Isolast J9512 represent a breakthrough in CPI sealing technology
Since hot water and steam are recognised as two of the most difficult environments within which to achieve effective sealing, especially when acids are encountered, test results for newly developed perfluoroelastomer Isolast J9512 from Busak+Shamban, represent a breakthrough in CPI sealing technology Not only does Isolast J9512 outperform all elastomeric materials commonly used in such applications, but, at the highest temperature ranges, when perfluoroelastomer is considered the only effective sealing material, it achieves a better measured performance against competitive perfluoroelastomers

FEP O-rings for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics
Busak+Shamban has harnessed the advanced performance offered by FEP encapsulated O-Rings to provide sealing integrity where ordinary elastomer O-Rings are prone to failure
Tests, carried out in field applications and controlled laboratory conditions, involved immersion of Isolast J9512 and other leading FFKM materials in steam, for 1008 hours, at a temperature of 2600C.
Results were conclusive: Isolast J9512 exhibited minimal change, in hardness, weight and volume, unlike the other FFKM materials tested, where surface blistering and swelling occurred.
See test results contained within Isolast J9512 data sheet, available on request.
Many CPI applications will benefit from this new grade of perfluoroelastomer, notably, where super-heated steam is employed, such as within the energy generation and oil industries.
Since the material has long term resistance to steam, hot water, hot acids and alkalis, sealing security can be maintained throughout longer service life, reducing costs, increasing productivity and minimising the prospect of contamination.
A primary factor in the success of Isolast J9512 is considered to be the materials low compression set, achieved as a material development objective, the material has a compression set of 15 percent at 2000C/72 hrs, lower than all other comparative perfluoroelastomers.
