Busak+Shamban introduce FlexiMold, its newly developed proprietary technology for the manufacture of high precision, large diameter O-rings and other seal profiles.

FlexiMold giant seals are of superior quality to those fabricated as spliced seals, or from extruded cord, and demonstrate the full visual and dimensional integrity of a moulded product.

Produced without the need of a dedicated tool, a flexible tool set-up minimises leadtimes and costs.

Large O-rings and seals are used across all process industries including chemical and hydrocarbon, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, with the production of flat panel displays for the electronics industry being a major application.

The conventional method of producing large diameter O-rings and seals is by splicing extruded cord.

However, inherent in this method of fabrication is a weakness at the join, along with poor surface finish and difficulty in achieving tight tolerances.

Alternatively, a dedicated tool is required with its associated high investment and long leadtime.

FlexiMold is a new proprietary technology specifically developed by Busak+Shamban for manufacture of large O-rings and other seal profiles.

With it, production of giant high quality seals is possible without the leadtime and cost associated with dedicated tooling.

The FlexiMold process eliminates the risks associated with spliced O-rings, ensuring the full visual, dimensional and functional integrity of a molded seal.

The FlexiMold process is recommended for O-rings and other seal profiles over 500 mm/20inches.

They are supplied to standards ISO 3601-1, AS568, and JIS B 2401 and can be produced in almost infinite diameters.

If O-rings are of a standard cross section, there is no tooling charge.

Larger and special cross sections along with other seal profiles can be requested.

FlexiMold giant O-rings are available in a wide range of elastomers including Isolast FFKM, Resifluor High Performance Fluoroelastomers, FKM, EPDM and HNBR.

Compounds conforming to FDA, USP Class VI, and Explosive Decompression Resistant (EDR) requirements can be supplied.

In addition, seals are produced to a 'zero' defect quality policy with parts packaged and labeled individually.

Class 100 Cleanroom washing and packing is available, as is an express delivery service.
