Load cells are often damaged and made unusable through inadvertent overload, usually during installation or set-up: burster load cells are protected up to 4x or 5x measuring range

Many times load cells are damaged and made unusable through overload, caused either inadvertently during installation and start-up or simply by a mistake throughout load generation In these cases the load exceeds the measuring range of the load cell so far that it is sent to the "happy measuring grounds" and consequently has to be replaced

But often these expenses can be avoided! In order to reduce the damage risk, burster now offers its proven load cell model 8524 optionally with an overload protection in compression direction for all measuring ranges from 0...500 N up to 0...20 kN.

This allows a load generation of up to 4 and 5-fold of the measuring range full scale.

The overload protection has about the same form and size like the load cell and is supplied already mounted on the load cell body.

Although the overload protection is effective only in compression direction, the assembly borings allow the measurement of tension forces.

For evaluating the measuring signal the user has to access the burster manifold instrument range.

Starting with simple signal amplifiers, it continues with digital indicators in panel or desktop housings or interfaces with Profibus connection, and ends up with single or multichannel test controllers for press-fit and joining control.

For quality control purposes retraceable manufacturer and DKD calibrations for load cells and measuring chains are effected on demand.
