Carlisle Process Systems is to unveil a Total Solution to the UK cheesemaking industry, thanks to the addition of further major product lines.

CPS specialises in the design and manufacture of cheese equipment and has recently extended its scope with the addition of membrane filtration systems designed for the treatment and processing of whey to recover proteins and other valuable constituents.

Membrane filtration is a mechanical separation process during which a liquid is divided into two flows by means of the membrane.

Those particles, which are smaller than the membrane pores will pass through as permeate with the larger particles being retained in the retentate.

A number of different options are available from CPS depending on the application including reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF) or microfiltration (MF).

This latest development together with products from the CPS Powder Division, means that UK based customers can now enjoy all the benefits of obtaining almost any cheesemaking and whey processing system from a single local source.

The CPS Powder Division provides drying and evaporation technology from Zimmer in the USA, Stork Friesland and Scheffers in the Netherlands and Bontech in Denmark.

With more than 2000 references CPS has supplied systems worldwide including the largest powdered milk manufacturing plant in the world.

This together with other products from the Powder Division which provide a number of exciting options for the drying of whey concentrates which will be of interest to many Nantwich visitors.

The company will also be giving prominence to its more traditional products such as its famous best selling Wincanton Cheese Towers, which have been installed by hundreds of producers across the globe.

These alongside cheese vats, finishing tables, tanks, mould filling equipment and numerous other cheese and dairy processing plant items means that Nantwich visitors can now source everything from one company.

CPS is especially proud of its three famous brand names comprising Wincanton, Damrow and Scherping, whose equipment is used by a large number of cheesemakers throughout the world for the production of hard, semi-hard cheese as well as Feta and Cottage cheese.

Dave Shaw, Business Manager of the Cheese Group at CPS, summarising says: "This year's show is especially important to CPS because we are now offering one of the widest range of products ever.

We are very enthusiastic about introducing new products from the company's Powder Technology Division and off course the new membrane filtration equipment, which allows us to offer a total solution to cheesemakers everywhere.".
