Skid-mounted milk processing plant for Latvia
Carlisle Process Systems, a leading global supplier of top-quality process solutions to the dairy, cheese, food and beverage industries, is now selling into the Baltic States
Carlisle Process Systems, a leading global supplier of top-quality process solutions to the dairy, cheese, food and beverage industries, is now selling into the Baltic States following an on-going marketing campaign.
Its products are already popular throughout the world but the installation of skid-mounted milk processing plant at two of the leading dairy producers in Latvia, Talsu Piensaimnieks and Valmieras Piens, is yet another first for the forward thinking company.
The plant supplied included Wincanton Clean-in-Place Systems and Wincanton Pasteurisers for milk and cream, together with separators, homogenisers, standardisers and de-aerators.
The controls package designed and engineered by the Carlisle automation team utilised a Siemens S7 platform with Profibus communications and local HMI.
Carlisle Process Systems general manager Charles Todd said: ''We are now skid-mounting an increasing number of Wincanton branded process plants which means they are fully assembled at our Sherborne factory including piping, services, electrics and controls so that installation on site becomes simple and easy thus minimising any production downtime there may be.
The benefits apply whether the customer is down the road or on the other side of the world''.
Mr Todd added: "To ensure customers get the best available level of equipment and service, we have now set up an exhaustive pre-despatch testing facility which ensures everything leaves fully checked and in pristine condition".
This is indicative of the way in which Carlisle Process Systems has built up a reputation for quality and service worldwide.
The big appeal in countries like the Baltic States is to have the whole package assembled and tested prior to delivery so that everything can be put in place with the minimum of disruption.
This practice also allows customers a better opportunity to view the plant prior to despatch and witness trials if they wish.
Some customers in countries that are developing their infrastructure to incorporate current technology also require additional support, which Carlisle can readily provide.
Typically, experienced process engineers and automation technicians are available to assist customers with commissioning and training in operation and maintenance of the plant.
A full after sales service is provided including technical support, via modems installed as standard in all Wincanton products and prompt spares supply.
Carlisle Process Systems provides a range of standard continuous HTST pasteurisers with capacities from 1,000 to 25,000 litres per hour and beyond all featuring the Fischer Combi-flow plate heat exchanger, which has high-pressure frames suitable for a range of applications, including viscous ice cream mixes and dessert-type products.
The growing success around the globe of the Dairy, Food and Beverage Group at Carlisle Process Systems is, says Mr Todd, ample justification of the company decision to split the business into a trio of operations with the other two (the Cheese Group and the Manufacturing Group) also enjoying success.
Each of the three arms focuses on its own sector of the marketplace so that customers can reap the benefits from accessing a team of dedicated specialists from each group.
