Bov is the only dairy within Arla in Europe that can produce and package traditional Feta cheese and the new vats are required to meet increased demand for its products.
The contract is the second phase of a carefully detailed plan, jointly developed between Arla and CPS Damrow, to enhance operations at the facility.
The plan had two phases because the old vats were totally replaced and it was extremely important therefore that any effect on production was fully controlled.

Carlisle Process Systems has helped many in the UK's dairy industry in a variety of ways, but assisting people to get a good night's sleep is a new one even for this pioneering company
The first phase was when CPS Damrow won an order to supply one 12,000 litre Damrow Double 'O' Cheese Vat in August 2003 which was supplied, installed and commissioned in October 2003.
During the following months a dedicated team of CPS Damrow engineers worked closely with Arla production staff to ensure that all their recipes could be replicated on the new system and this was successfully achieved.
The first vat has been in daily production since being installed and Arla personnel have found fine-tuning very easy due the design of the control system and simplicity of the operator interface.
Other than supplying the new vats, CPS Damrow had an extensive scope of work to undertake which included dismantling the existing vats ready for removal out of the building, design and installation of a new pipework and valve system and design and supply of a new automatic control system for the vats as well as the existing cleaning-in-place (CIP) plant.
In addition, CPS Damrow undertook full commissioning of the complete new production plant.
All this was completed in just 14 days - a result of the pre-arranged carefully detailed plan.
When the last batch of cheese had left the existing vats and CIP was finished then a huge crew from CPS Damrow cleared out the existing room and installed the new equipment.
When the mechanical and electrical work was completed the I/O checks were undertaken, dry and wet testing performed and CIP fully functioned.
Then production commenced again and the plant was running on full capacity within a couple of days to ensure Arla maintained leadership as the number one in Feta cheese production in Europe.
This just shows what can be done when partners work closely together for a common business objective.
The Damrow Double 'O' Cheese Vat was originally developed in the early 1970's and was such a major breakthrough for the dairy industry at that time that the vat became the industry standard for many, many years all over the world.
The highly experienced team at CPS Damrow has made continuous improvements utilising 3D design and computer simulation.
The new key features of the current design include; improved hygienic design of the whey drain, improve hygienic design of the knives and increased yield, enhanced accuracy of direct dosing of CaCl2 and rennet, improve cooling and temperature control.
This contract follows on from another successful project with Arla Foods for the supply of a Cottage Cheese Vat where yet again the customer was as equally impressed with the quality of equipment and excellent service provided by CPS Damrow.
Consolidation of sales activities within the CPS group means that Damrow equipment is generally available worldwide either through sister companies in USA, Canada, UK and Ireland or direct from CPS Damrow or local agents for other countries.
Carlisle Process Systems (CPS) is a world leading systems and equipment business supplying the cheese, dairy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical and powder industries.
CPS has manufacturing facilities in the USA, UK and China and sales and service offices throughout the world.
