CPS is augmenting its impressive equipment portfolio and introducing into the UK the latest range of top quality automatic self-cleaning separators from a leader in centrifugal technology, Reda SpA

Specialists in food processing systems, Carlisle Process Systems (CPS), is augmenting its impressive equipment portfolio and introducing into the UK the latest range of top quality automatic self-cleaning separators from a European leader in centrifugal technology, Reda SpA Available exclusively in the UK from CPS, these updated designs are capable of achieving an extremely high centrifugal force that offers top class operating efficiencies due to their sophisticated balancing system, special mechanical drive and high quality manufacturing materials

All this enables CPS to seriously compete with those involved in the milk, whey, cream and buttermilk separating equipment.

The latest Reda range covers a variety of models to meet the demand of both high and low volume production.

The RE15T model, for example, can skim 1,000 - 1,500 l/ph of milk, standardise 2,500 l/ph, and skim 2,500 l/ph of whey - small volumes that few other separators on the market can cater for.

At the other end of the scale Reda are producing machines that can skim milk up to 35,000 l/ph.

Irrespective of size Reda employ the same high specification and quality standard throughout.

For applications of 12,000 l/ph or less CPS can supply the machines on a stainless steel base frame.

This enables units to be fully pre-wired and greatly reduces installation costs as well as providing flexibility for re-location in the future.

The Reda inlet is self-priming for low capacity, while for nominal capacity the machine needs a low pressure [much lower than competitor requirements].

An impeller inside the distributor accelerates the working speed of the inlet stream to prevent fat globules from breaking and ensures fat and foam free results.

The outlet of the Reda separator is a hydraulic seal type, which guarantees no foam and requires no servicing.

As standard, all machines feature a standardisation device featuring two manometers for easy skimming control.

Other advantages include a water unit supplied as standard that guarantees constant discharges, and a PLC control panel that is manufactured in stainless steel and includes a motor circuit control.

The mechanical drive is supplied in two different ways - a gear type and belt drive transmission.

The gear type is simple to service and has a patented flexible horizontal shaft that allows movements which simulate the belt drive flexibility.

Reda has developed gears using a special profile to help minimise noise and prolong the life of gears and bearings.

The belt type transmission is supplied with larger size machines and has a frequency converter to prevent the motor from overheating and offers low consumption start-ups and less stress during the discharge cycle.

Product manager at CPS, Gareth Cheverton, commented on the enhanced agency agreement: "Reda separators are one of the best selling in Europe and CPS intends to replicate this in the UK by highlighting the benefits of the high quality, leading technology machines and offering top class sales and technical assistance from CPS - this is already working with two orders secured this year.".
