CPS recently saved the day at the Evercreech, Somerset factory of prepared foods producer, Evercreech Truly Uniq (Uniq).
CPS business development manager Paul Griffin and his team were faced with the challenge of modifying and re-commissioning the existing plant at the Uniq facility, within the very tight deadline set by their customer.
The company came to CPS after winning a production contract with one of the globe's most renowned retailers, Marks and Spencer.
Uniq were commissioned to produce a new selection of products, consisting of a cheesecake base with multi layered filling for their customer.
Once CPS had determined that existing plant could in fact be utilised, saving the company time and money, Paul Griffin and his team made the required modifications to the existing CPS cleaning-in-place system to make it capable of a different cleaning regime to suit the revised production.
In addition, a process vessel was modified for the new duty and a cleaning system was designed for the new filling machine.
The required work was completed within a very short time-frame, resulting in Uniq getting the newly launched product to the shelves on schedule.
Evercreech Truly Uniq is a European chilled and frozen food producer, and predominantly makes fresh chilled desserts, salads, sandwiches, fish, dips and dressings and also ready meals for sale in the UK and continental Europe.
In addition to the UK, it also manufactures in Germany, Poland, Netherlands and Spain and products are sold to countries such as Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy and Sweden.
Stuart Williams, consultant project manager for Uniq, said: "Due to the commitment and professionalism in working towards a challenging completion schedule, CPS enabled us to successfully launch the new range of cheesecake products for a major supermarket chain.
We look forward to working with them again in the future".
CPS business development manager, Paul Griffin said: "CPS were pleased to take on the challenge and were delighted with the end result, as were our customer.
Success was achieved by having a good working relationship with the team at Uniq and by drawing on the huge experience and knowledge that exists within CPS about desserts processing systems".
