A research discussion seminar at Cambridge will cover developments in materials for optonics, biosensing and chemicals processing, organic electronics and carbon nanotubes The day will be chaired by Professor Malcolm Longair, Head of the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge University, and will focus on key developments in Nanoelectronics, looking at the latest work in Organic Electronics, Bio Electronics, Carbon Nanotubes and Optical Materials

The seminar will be addressed by, amongst others, Professor Bill Milne, Head of Electrical Engineering at Cambridge, Professor Sir Richard Friend, head of the Optoelectronics Group and founder of Cambridge Display Technologies (CDT) and Professor Christopher Dobson, head of Cambridge's BioPhysics group.
Dr Wilhelm Huck from the Department of Chemistry will be discussing his pioneering work on the control of organic (polymer) molecules, work that will assist new applications, for example in biosensing or chemicals processing, to be developed.

The seminar will be on 29 June 2004, at the William Gates Building: the dinner after the event will be in Kings College.
