Development programme for Saunders HC4 products
Crane Process Flow Technologies has implemented a new development programme targeted at enhancing manufacturing and training within its manufacturing facility at Cwmbran
Crane Process Flow Technologies (CPFT) has implemented a new development programme targeted at enhancing manufacturing and training, within its manufacturing facility at Cwmbran.
Through the development of value stream mapping, changes have been implemented in working patterns and workstation environments.
Management, design, manufacturing and logistics teams have been redefined to ensure that all aspects of production, control and maintenance are constantly analysed and developed.
Improvements are being achieved during a period of significant product shift away from standard two-way valves to custom Bio-Block multi-valves, which require additional customer design involvement, but are resulting in increased right-first-time product development.
In line with these developments, CPFT has invested in increasing machine capacity with the commissioning of new machining technology, together with measures to increase the flexibility of the existing machining areas.
The company has also invested in a new product-finishing suite for the Saunders HC4, which came on line in late 2004, on the Cwmbran site.
