C-Cubed launches the TDS Nomad hand-held
C-Cubed announces the TDS Nomad, the most powerful and versatile rugged handheld computer on the market, with built-in GPS receiver, 2-megapixel digital camera and 1-D laser bar code scanner
The Nomad comes standard with an 806 MHz processor, a full VGA display, integrated Bluetooth and has integration options such as GPS, WLAN, Barcode scanner and Camera.
The Nomad is ultra rugged and meets MIL-STD-810F military specifications for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude and extreme temperatures, from -30C to +60C.
Nomad is IP67 rated and fully protected against dust and water.
Nomad comes standard with a powerful 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB DDR SDRAM and up to 1 GB of Flash memory.
It has a generous 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery that works 15 hours without a recharge.
Nomad has a sharp full VGA display that is transflective, which means that it is clear and visible also in bright sunlight, making it ideal for graphic intense applications.
The numeric keypad is backlit for night use or use in low light conditions.

The operating system for the Nomad is Windows Mobile 6, the latest version for mobile devices.
Standard software includes mobile versions of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
In addition to the standard integrated Bluetooth, the Nomad has optional integrated 802.11g for wireless access to email and the Internet via local area networks.
Furthermore the unit offers built in features such as GPS receiver, 2-megapixel digital camera and 1-D laser bar code scanner, there is also a CF slot and SDIO slot available to add more devices, such as GPRS and RFID solutions.
