CDR Pumps have recently worked with Permex Filling Systems to install a new system for IBC and drum filling with flammable solvents, at a chemical distributor in Chesterfield

Permex have over 40 years experience in liquid filling and handling based on the four principal measurements: mass, weight, volume and level Their scope of work is from design through to on-site installation and after sales service and support

The design brief in this application was to manufacture a filling machine capable of filling from 5 litre drums, up to 1500 litre IBC vessels, capable of handling a wide selection of solvents, and be fully automated to eliminate operator error and provide a fast efficient filling cycle.

Due to the nature of the products being pumped, the entire system needed to be ATEX rated.

The unit incorporates a mass flowmeter, with control being through a PLC controller using inverter drive control to slow and reduce the filling speed, ensuring operator safety at all stages through the process.

CDR Pumps (UK) provided a pump from their ETN-L series of ETFE lined magnetic drive centrifugal pump units, driven by an inverter rated ATEX motor, all of which makes an ATEX compliant pump unit.

CDR Pumps Managing Director Ashley Fenn says "We have worked with Permex before on various filling machine applications, and their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none.

We are pleased that this project was once again a success for both companies, and look forward to working with Permex again in the future".
