Continued expansion combined with growing pressure on operating margins in the EOG sector has led manufacturers to identify new and innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of production processes and equipment.
Traditional mechanical seals, however, typically fail due to chemical erosion or physical stresses.
By comparison, the new VR Rotary Seal uses a unique design that requires considerably less radial force to form an effective and integrated sealing face.
As a result, material stresses are dramatically reduced, thereby increasing operating life while minimising maintenance and replacement costs.
In addition, the VR Rotary Seal is available in a variety of materials, including a wide range of Viton compounds, FPM/PTFE elastomers and nitrile rubber, to suit different applications.
Depending on the shaft media, the front and back specifications of each seal can also be formed from a combination of materials to create specific operating characteristics.
Andrew Kownacki, Technical Director at Ceetak, explains that, "The new VR Rotary Seal was developed over an 18-month period and we have succeeded in reducing the radial force in most applications to less than one third that of conventional rotary sealing components.
By then incorporating a choice of materials that are specifically designed to withstand the media common in the EOG sector we have created a range of products that can make a real difference in production processes.".
