Compair compressors power world's tallest fountain

A Compair product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jan 14, 2010

A package of 11 Compair compressors, including four Quantima units, is powering water jets up to 50 storeys high at The Dubai Fountain, the world's tallest performing fountain.

Developed by Emaar Properties, one of the world's leading property developers, the fountain is more than 900ft (275 metres) long and capable of shooting water sprays to heights of more than 150 metres.

The compressed air propels the water through the jet nozzle, which therefore needs to be completely clean.

Dirty or oil-laden air can block the nozzle and contaminate the lake, potentially resulting in an expensive clean-up operation.

The Quantima units provide oil-free air to eliminate this risk, within a package that ensures an uninterrupted supply of compressed air and fits easily into the confines of the plant room, situated underneath the lake.
