So if the original manufacturer only wants to sell a new machine, or replacement parts are no longer available, help is now at hand.
Decanter centrifuges frequently operate in harsh environments and scroll wear is expected particularly after many years of operation.
When this happens, Centriquip can repair or rebuild equipment, even when replacement parts are unavailable.
This greatly reduces the cost of returning the machine back to service and, more importantly, can be achieved in lightning fast time.
Repairing, rather than replacing, is the key to the fast turnround required by normal Centriquip customers.
"It's our ability to repair rather than just fit new parts that makes us different from the rest," said Centriquip service manager Neil Lacy: "We have the facilities and the skilled people to repair a faulty machine, by remaking components if necessary, regardless of who originally made it".
During the refurbishment process improvements may be made to increase the longevity of the machine, such as hardening the scroll flight tips.
This will help extend the service life of the machine.
Centriquip also provides preventative maintenance through routine servicing to help avoid unnecessary and unexpected stoppages.
Sometimes, during new build, business expansion, or when duties change, new machinery is required.
Centriquip manufactures a full range of decanters for every application, but when equipment can be refurbished, it's cheaper, faster and more environmentally appropriate to repair, not replace.
Centriquip is the UK's largest manufacturer of decanter centrifuges for wastewater treatment throughout all industry sectors.
