Jonathan Collis has been appointed as an electrical engineer allows the company to provide in-house electrical advice and support to its decanter centrifuge customers

Jonathan Collis, aged 33, has joined Centriquip in Clay Cross, Derbyshire His appointment as an electrical engineer allows the company to provide electrical advice and support to its decanter centrifuge customers as well as handle its own electrical design and maintenance work in-house

Jonathan joined the company in August after a 5-year apprenticeship at the Staveley Chemical Works and a further 10 years experience working in industry.

"Until now Centriquip has contracted out all its electrical design and maintenance work," explained Jonathan: "Now we can do much of the work in house so provide a much faster service with much better continuity than was possible before".

Centriquip is the UK's largest manufacturer of decanter centrifuges and provides nationwide repair and maintenance services for all manufacturer's equipment.

By taking a traditional approach to maintenance, repairing worn equipment rather than just replacing it, Centriquip can often extend the lifespan of high-value capital equipment and return it to service much faster than is possible through other original equipment manufacturers.
