There are two models to choose from, with different temperature ranges to suit different applications.
The emissivity setting is fixed at 0.95, making the ST8818 Series ideal for most organic materials and non-shiny (painted, corroded or anodised) metals.
Readings can be taken in degrees C or F, and when the trigger is released the last measurement is held for 7 seconds before the unit automatically turns off.
The narrow, 12:1, field of view helps to minimise errors by providing a small diameter measurement area.
Model ST8818 has a temperature range from -50C to 550C, and model ST8828 measures from -50 up to 1000C.
Both units have a resolution of 0.1C from -50 to 199C, and above 200C they have a 1C resolution - the change in resolution occurs automatically.
These rugged units will operate in ambient temperatures from 0C to 50C and are powered by a standard PP3 9 V battery.
The ST8818 comes supplied with a soft carrying case, and the ST8828 has a hard case for added protection when not in use.
With prices starting from as low as GBP69.00 for the ST8818 model, these sensors are an extremely cost effective way to measure temperature quickly and accurately.
