Calex Electronics are proud to announce three new additions to the Convir TL series of fixed-mount infrared temperature sensors, with an in-situ emissivity adjustment factor capability

Calex Electronics are proud to announce three new additions to the Convir TL series of fixed-mount infrared temperature sensors These new TL-TE models offer users the ability to reach out and take control of their pyrometers by replacing the old service interface with a simple rotary emissivity adjustment

This eliminates the need to remove these sensors from service and connect them to a PC to change the emissivity setting.

Now this can be done on the production line as soon as the need arises, either when the sensors are first installed or when they are confronted by new materials with different emissivity values.

This new emissivity adjustment is available on the TL-TE14-09, TL-TE5-12 and TL-TE4-10 models.

The TL-TE14-09 is a general purpose sensor which measures at 8 to 14microns with a temperature range from -32 to +900C.

It offers a choice of close focus optics with spot sizes down to just 2mm diameter at a distance of 100mm.

The TL-TE5-12 is a 5.14micron pyrometer designed for use in the glass industry.

Operating at this wavelength it is able to measure around 1.5mm into the surface of glass and thereby cut out many of the reflections that can trouble other pyrometers.

This model offers an extended temperature range from 100 to 1200C to allow it to cover most applications in glass manufacture, and also offers a selection of close focus optics.

The TL-TE4-10 is a 3.9micron sensor with a wide 100 to 1000C temperature range allowing it to address many applications.

Its specially selected wavelength allows it to measure through most flames, providing accurate and stable readings where other infrared temperature sensors cannot.

This wavelength is also a good compromise solution for measuring low temperature metals because it is long enough to allow relatively low temperatures to be measured, and short enough to help improve the emissivity value of metal surfaces.

All of the TL-TE sensors offer 2-wire 4 to 20mA outputs and have detachable leads to allow them to be easily taken out of service and swapped without the need to remove all of their associated cabling.

These sensors also offer a high accuracy of 1% and a rapid response time of just 100ms.
