A Chemineer product story

A static mixer from Chemineer has rescued a leading pet food manufacturer from a somewhat unconventional processing and potentially damaging public relations problem

A static mixer from Chemineer has rescued a leading pet food manufacturer from a somewhat unconventional processing and potentially damaging public relations problem.

When modifying an existing mixer to put an eye-catching new design into a brand of dog meat, the pet food company discovered to their horror that instead of the desired meat streaks it had intended, the product was decorated throughout with patterns of swastika symbols.

Chemineer rapidly responded to help the manufacturer meet its crucial delivery deadlines by removing the inefficient and as it turned out, incorrectly specified agitator, and replaced it with a new Kenics KMA Mixer, which immediately created the required dog food streaks.

A spokesperson from Chemineer commented: "In more than half a century of worldwide mixing applications, the company has been asked to work on some out of the ordinary challenges, but we can't say that we'd have predicted this one".
