They may be used licence-free at broadcast power outputs of up to 0.5 Watt, but, with an appropriate licence, can broadcast at up to 10 Watts.
Radio Modems provide a very convenient way of linking two devices without the need for laying cables, making sure things as ship to shore and mobile telemetry possible.
Additionally, they are extremely useful for monitoring remote installations and extending networks whether in the field, on a process plant, or in the laboratory.
They are ideal for security and safety monitoring applications, as well as for collecting engineering, scientific, production, process and administrative data.
Roy Carter, MD of Celsum Technologies, said: "These radio modems are a welcome complementary addition to our range of process control and strain gauge conditioning instruments.
Also, they enhance our range of serial to USB and serial to Ethernet connectivity products".
The radio modems are ETSI approved, operate from a 9 to 30V DC supply, allowing them to be powered via mains-based supplies or from an optional battery pack, and may be configured from a PC or, optionally, from a built-in keypad with LCD display.
Additionally, they operate at UHF frequencies which will transmit through walls etc.
The radio modems have a user-selectable error-correction mode, and may be programmed to operate as a repeater station to cover longer distances.
An Evaluation Kit consisting of two modems with quarter-wave antenna, cables and software is available. Request a free brochure from Celsum Technologies ...
