On stand 4326 at Total 2007 the Chronos Richardson Systems materials handling and packaging equipment will be illustrated through reference to its proven range of weighing, bagging and palletising equipment.

To complement the bagging systems a new palletiser, the RP500 'Cartesian' Robot Palletiser has recently been introduced.

A RP500 palletiser will be displayed at Total 2007 to demonstrate palletising filled bags onto manually positioned empty pallets.

The RP500 palletiser incorporates the same well proven innovative bag gripper as used on the company's Compact Palletiser, which comprises a grid to pick-up the bag and a pneumatically actuated pusher to deposit the bag on the layer.

The bag gripper has 4 axis mobility (y = longitudinal movement, x = transverse movement, z = vertical movement, w = rotation), taking the bags from the feeding conveyor and depositing them on the pallet according to the pre-selected programme.

The bag pusher movement is controlled by a pneumatic cylinder and the gripper rotation / pusher direction allows each bag to be deposited close to the previous bag, producing a more stable palletised load.

An in built Operator Interface Panel allows for regular status check of the RP500, with the operator being able to review the selected programme and in-built bag counter.

The palletising layer format can also be selected from a list of programmes or it can be directly accessed from the operator panel.

Design to achieve the benefits of traditional and robotic palletising techniques the RP500 is supplied with floor mounted empty pallet guide plates and interlocked safety fences / barriers.
